UNIT 1 WAS TRAVELING EAST WHEN THE OPERATOR OBSERVED A DEER. TO AVOID A COLLUSION, THE OPERATOR SWERVED. THE OPERATOR LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND BEGAN TO SKID. THE VEHICLE TRAVELED APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET IN A SKID, CROSSED INTO THE WEST BOUND LANE AND CRASHED INTO A HEAVILY WOODED AREA. THE OPERATOR WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE AFTER SOME STRUGGLING. THE OPERATOR FLAGGED DOWN A PASSER-BY, AND CALLED 911. SEVERAL DOZEN TREES WERE REMOVED BY THE TOW COMPANY TO EXTRACT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REMOVED AND THE OPERATOR TRANSPORTED TO HER HOME BY THE TOW COMPANY.
