I, SGT. NICK AL-MOGHRABI, WAS ON DUTY FOR THE SAWYER COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT ON 01/07/17. AT 00:39 I OBSERVED A VEHICLE PARKED AT THE STORAGE SHED OFF STH 77 NEAR O'BRIEN HILL. UPON PULLING IN TO CHECK ON IT, I OBSERVED SEVERE FRONT END DAMAGE AND TRACKS LEADING DOWN THE EMBANKMENT THROUGH THE SNOW FROM STH 77 WITH VEHICLE DEBRIS SCATTERED THROUGHOUT. THE VEHICLE WAS FOUND UNOCCUPIED. THE REGISTERED OWNER, , STILL SHOWED AN EXELAND ADDRESS HOWEVER I KNOW HE LIVES IN THE SPIDER LAKE AREA. I OBSERVED THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TRAVELING EAST, ENTERED THE DITCH CROSSING A DRIVEWAY AND STRIKING A METAL POST HOLDING A MAILBOX. UPON MEETING WITH THE OWNER OF THE MAILBOX, HE INFORMED ME THE CRASH HAPPENED AROUND 1730 ON 1/6/18 AND THAT , WHOM HE KNOWS, WAS OPERATING AND HAD HIS TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR NONE OF WHICH WERE INJURED. NEIGHBORS HELPED GET THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE DITCH AND PARKED. I ATTEMPTED PHONE NUMBERS LISTED IN HOUSE BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO MAKE CONTACT WITH HORAN THEREFORE THE KIDS ARE NOT LISTED IN THE CRASH REPORT.
