ON JANUARY 14TH, I, DEPUTY REED RESPONDED TO A REPORT OF A TRUCK IN THE DITCH AT THE DRIVEWAY OF THE MOTEL ON USH 63. THE TRUCK HAD STRUCK A CABLE BOX KNOCKING IT OVER. THE MOTEL LOST ALL WIFI AND CABLE TV. SPECTRUM CABLE COMPANY HAD TO COME OUT AND FIX IT. I MADE CONTACT WITH OWNER AND DRIVER OF THE TRUCK WHO ADVISED HE SLID OFF DRIVEWAY INTO DITCH AND WAS PLANNING ON HAVING A FRIEND HELP HIM REMOVE TRUCK IN AM AS HE WAS STAYING AT THE MOTEL. I OBSERVED NO SIGNS OF IMPAIRMENT ON THE DRIVER. THERE WAS OBVIOUSLY DAMAGE TO THE CABLE BUT OBSERVED NO DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK. I CITED THE DRIVER FOR DRIVING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS AND FAILURE TO NOTIFY POLICE OF AN ACCIDENT. CITATIONS MAILED TO HIM. NO FURTHER INFORMATION.
