1. The smallest amount of bare ground shall be exposed for as short a time as possible.
2. Temporary ground cover shall be used,and permanent cover shall be established and
maintained.
3. Diversions,sediment basins,and other methods shall be used to minimize runoff and
erosion.

The VAC (35% of property frontage) is the area where your dock, stairway, paths, firepit, boathouse,
and mowing activity may take place. The remainder of the shoreline is your vegetative buffer.
This area acts as the kidneys of your lake, filtering runoff, pollution, and fertilizer.

Project Details:
Provide a brief description of the proposed shoreland alteration project. Include list of materials that
will be used for sediment and erosion control during construction, and describe how the site will be
permanently stabilized post-construction. The attached plot plan must include detailed locations of
all erosion control materials. Erosion Control —may include but not limited to: silt fence, straw
bales, and erosion control mats.
