Sands : Today I visited your property to verify the information on LUP 94-128 . I noticed that there were four stakes in the ground in an area north of the existing dwelling . Assuming th4t these stakes might mark the location of the new dwelling , I measured the setback from stake number one (see the attached inspection report) to the lake shore . The result of this measurement was a 67 ' shoreline setback to this stake . However , the setback indicated on LUP 94-128 is 85 feet . Without a variance being granted by the Sawyer County Board of Appeals , you cannot build your new dwelling closer than 75 ' to the ordinary high water mark of Clear Lake . If you do build your dwelling closer than 75 ' , you and the builder will each be issued citations , and you will be ordered to remove the portion of the dwelling that encroaches on the 75 ' setback. I am writing this letter in advance of actual construction so that both you and the builder can avoid any unnecessary hardship involving the construction of your new dwelling .
