Dear Ms. Seelnacht:
I'm writing in regard to your application for a Land Use Permit.
Your permit states that you are building a replacement dwelling. I assume this means
you will be reconnecting to an existing septic system. I have been unable to locate any
records pertaining to the septic system on your property. This is common for systems
more than 30 years old.
Because it appears that you have an older system the Assistant Sanitarian for Sawyer
County Zoning would like you to have a soil test done to determine if your system is
functioning properly. If your system is not failing we will request that you submit an
affidavit of an existing system and get a reconnect permit. If your system is failing you
will need to replace the system.
I have enclosed information that will be helpful to you in the determination of the
condition of you septic system. If you have any questions please feel free to call us at
634-8288. We will be happy to help.
