Please find the attached building permit application for purposes of correcting
improper construction of pre-existing roof overhang over entry and the landing
beneath.
The existing overhang has low root pitch and valleys that do not currently have ice
&water membrane or flashing to prevent leakage which we have experienced
intermittently since taking ownership of the property in 2013.
We need to replace the overhang to stop all ice and rain leakage. Early water
damage is showing where water runs on siding and sofit.Additionally,we wish to
replace the landing beneath the overhang since we do not know iYs age and time
would be appropriate to also include this in the project.
Work will be done by home owner Dan Almquist who is a 40 year experienced
carpenter in both residential and commercial construction, including roofing and
has experience working with county inspectors and understands codes to follow.
Our requested start date is September 1,2023 weather permitting.
