Motion carried by unanimous voice vote. Motion by Brandt, 2°d by Silack, to approve the minutes of the meeting of April 9, 1998. Motion carried. Maintenance Department Supervisor Dennis Erickson provided a report on the following projects of the Maintenance Department: - completion of the Law Enforcement Center communications center rewiring and renovations - neaz completion of renovations at the Highway Department offices - near completion of the Universiry of Wisconsin-Extension ceilings and lighting - plans to paint University of Wisconsin-Extension hall walls - plans for renovations to Law Enforcement Center booking room - requests for floor maintenance assistance at Airport terminal building Mr. Erickson proposed that major, non-routine projects of the Maintenance Department requested by departments be submitted for the approval of the Property-Airport Committee. Motion by Morgan, 2"d by Vitcenda, to approve the proposal. Motion carried. Mr. Erickson reported that Short Elliott Hendrickson submitted documents of closure for the environmental testing of the former Highway Department site in the City of Hayward to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for approval. The documents conclude that there was no contamination found in testing that would require cleanup measures. Mr. Erickson requested the Committee's support for a request to increase the Maintenance Department staff by 1 full-time position in the Maintenance Department appropriation for the 1999 Sawyer County Budget. Motion by Brandt, 2"d by Morgan, to approve the request. Motion carried. Dan and Patty Leslie (L & L Aviation) provided their monthly Airport management report. Dan indicated that he would obtain proposals for the clearing of brush and trees along the runways at the Airport for the next meeting of the Committee. County Clerk Kris Mayberry informed the Committee of the request of Kenneth J. Wessels aod the request of Donald Pfister for approval of the lease of a hangar site at the Sawyer County Airport. Motion by Morgan, 2°� by Vitcenda, to approve the requests. Motion camed. Motion by Vitcenda, 2"d by Morgan, to approve the continued use of Shumans for the mowing of grass areas at the Airport. Motion carried. Motion by Brandt, 2"d by Silack, to approve the monthly expense vouchers of the Maintenance Department and the Airport. Motion carried. Motion by Vitcenda, 2"d by Silack, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
