Dear Sir or Madam: Re: Van Gorden/Schilling
This is a request for public records. I am requesting a copy of any and all
records concerning an application for a conditional use permit by or on behalf of Dr.
Schuyler Van Gorden and James and Diane Schilling to allow two mainland lots on
Chief Lake to be used as accesses for privately-owned property on an unnamed island
on Moonshine Lake, a bay of the Chippewa Flowage. To my best knowledge, the
Zoning Committee voted on this application on December 20, 2003.
By this letter, I am requesting a copy of any and all records relating to the
application, the vote, and any subsequent appeaL I would be more than happy to pay
your reasonable costs of copying.

On December 20, 2002 the Sawyer County Zoning Committee denied your application
for a conditional use on the following described real estate to wit:

6). Property is zoned Residential/Recreational One. Permit is desired for
two (2) mainland accesses to 4 island lots located in Govt Lot 7, S 31,
T40N, R 6W, Township of Hunter. Lot 1 will be the access for two lots in
Parcel :7.1, including a smaller island in the SE corner of Govt Lot 7, and
Lot 6 will be the access for Parcels :7.3 and :7.4. The Town of Hayward
has approved the application; the Town of Hunter has denied the
application.
The Sawyer County Zoning Committee denied the application as submitted.
Findings of Fact of the Zoning Committee: It would be detrimental to ecology, wildlife,
wetlands, or shorelands. It would create topographical problems such as runoff, drainage,
erosion, flooding, or vegetative cover removal.
Any person or persons jointly aggrieved by the decision of the Zoning Committee may
commence an action in the Circuit Court far Writ of Certiorari to review the legality of
the decision within 30 days after the date of this notice.

1) There are unresolved court issues with both LCO & WI DNR concerning these properties.
2) The Town of Hunter's ability to grovide ervi s to h �Gland 1ot •
fire police protection EMT etc.
3) The two access lots located in the Town of Havward are not condusive to
the location of the island lots in the Town of Hunter and would not be able
to service the island effectively - particularly for transferring sewage
from island to mainland wh�ch would be a 10 mile trip via the Chi�newa Flowa¢e.
4) Parcel 114 is zoned F1 so is an unbuildable lot.

The Town of Hayward Monthly meeting was called to order at 7 00 P.M.by Chairman Homuth.
Those present were Supervisor Gedart,Treasurer]effries,Clerk Longtine,Fire Chief Long and
Road Supervisor Morgan. There were 6 in the audience. 'Ihe purpose of the meeting was to
discuss monthly business.
Gedart moved to approval the Agenda as posted. Homuth seconded. Cerried.
Having received the minutes in the mail,Homuth moved to Approve the Minutes as printed on
pages 688,689,690 and 691. Gedart seconded. Carried.
