On October 21, 2003, the Sawyer County Board of Appeals approved as amended your appli-
cation for variance on the following described real estate to wit:
Lot 2, being Part of Govt Lot 7, S 19, T 41N, R 7W, Parcel :7.17. Vol 581 Records Page
70; CSM Vol 16 Page 116. 72'/135'x446'/469' containing 1.09 acres. Property is zoned
Residential/Recreational One. Application is for the construction of a 22'x25' (including
eaves) attached garage addition with a loft area, onto an existing dwelling at a setback
distance of 12.5' to the centerline of a private access easement and 27' to a wetland area.
Variance is requested as Section 421(6), Sawyer County Zoning Ordinance, would re-
quire a minimum setback distance of 30' from the centerline of the easement and Section
4.49(1) would require a minimum setback distance of 40' from the wetland area. The
Town Board has approved the application.
The Sawyer County Board of Appeals approved the application as follows: Loft excluded; roof
no steeper than 4:12 pitch; 2-year expiration date.
Findings of Fact of the Board of Appeals: It would not be damaging to the rights of others or
property values. It would be due to special conditions unique to the property.
Any person or persons jointly aggrieved by this decision of the Board of Appeals may commence
an action in the Circuit Court for Writ of Certiorari to review the legality of this decision within
30 days after the date of this notice. In future correspondence, or in applying for permits, please
refer to Variance 03-032.

Dear Mr. Gottschalk:
I have enclosed the following documents with this letter:
• Inspection Report for the above property,
• "Court Decisions Regarding the Granting of Variances,"
• "Application for Variance - Additional Information,"
• a copy of the Sawyer County Board of Appeals Conclusions of Law Form (This is the
form that the Board members will use to determine if your situation meets the
requirements for the granting of the variance that you have requested.) and a
� completed "Variance Application."
If you believe that you meet the criteria for the requested variance,you should review the
application for correctness, sign it, and return it to this office with a check in the amount
of$250.00 made out to the "Sawyer County Zoning Administration"by Friday,
September 5, 2003 for hearings in October 2003.
The "Application for Variance -Additional Information" must also be filled out and
returned with the Variance Application. Both documents together make up the entire
application that will be reviewed by the Sawyer County Board of Appeals. Failure to
return both of the documents or failure to complete either document in its entirety will

cause the variance application to be rejected by this office.
Your application will be reviewed at two public hearings. The first hearing will held by
the Town of Round Lake at 6:30 P.M., Thursday, October 9, 2003. You should contact
Kathy McCoy, Town of Round Clerk, at(715) 462-3723 to confirm this date.
The Sawyer County Board of Appeals will hold the second hearing at 7:00 P.M.,
Tuesday, October 21, 2003, in the large courtroom located in the Sawyer County
Courthouse. You or your representative should attend each hearing, especially the hearing
conducted by the Sawyer County Board of Appeals. Only the Board of Appeals can grant
the variance, the decision of the Town of Round Lake is advisory only.
It is your responsibility to convince the Board of Appeals to grant the variance that you
have requested. Therefore, you should consider using any means at your disposal (i.e.,
photographs, drawings, a good verbal presentation, etc.) as you present your facts to the
Board.
