Dear Ms. Coddington,
On June 17, 2003, the Sawyer County Board of Appeals approved as amended your application
for variance on the following described real estate to wit:
Part of Lots 1-4, Block 14, Village of Stone Lake, S 19, T 39N, R 9W, Parcel —
20.14.1-4. Vol 780 Records Page 13, Vol 841 Records Page 345. .36 acres
(15,481 square feet). Property is zoned Residential One. Application is for the
construction of a 28'x36' detached garage (including eaves) at a setback distance
of 36' from the centerline of Frost Avenue (a town road), 17' from the rear lot line
and 2' from the side lot line. Variance is requested as Section 421(3), Sawyer
County Zoning Ordinance, would require a minimum setback distance of 63' from
the centerline of a town road and Section 18.4 would require a minimum setback
distance of 40' from the rear lot line and 5' from the side lot line. The Town Board
has approved the application.
The Board of Appeals approved the amended application as follows: setback to be no closer
than 46' to the centerline of Frost Avenue, 17' setback from rear lot line approved.
Findings of Fact of the Board of Appeals: There would be no change in the use in the zone dis-
trict. It would not be damaging to the rights of others or property values. It would be due to spe-
cial conditions unique to the property due to the slope.
Any person or persons jointly aggrieved by this decision of the Board of Appeals may commence
an action in the Circuit Court for Writ of Certiorari to review the legality of this decision within
30 days after the date of this notice. In future correspondence, or in applying for permits, please
refer to Variance 03-013.

Dear Mrs. Coddington:
I have enclosed the following documents with this letter:
• Inspection Report for the above property and a
• Completed Variance Application.
Please review the inspection report and the application for correctness. If correct, sign the
application and return it to this office with a check in the amount of$250.00 made out to
the "Sawyer County Zoning Administration" by Friday, May 2, 2003 for hearings in June
2003.
Your "Variance Application" will be reviewed at two public hearings. The first hearing
will held by the Town of Sand Lake at 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, June 10, 2003. You should
contact Elaine Nyberg, Town of Sand Lake Clerk, at (715) 865-2486 to confirm this date.
The Sawyer County Board of Appeals will hold the second hearing at 7:00 P.M.,
Tuesday, June 17, 2003, in the large courtroom located in the Sawyer County Courthouse.
You or your representative should attend each hearing, especially the hearing conducted
by the Sawyer County Board of Appeals. Only the Board of Appeals c,an grant the
variance, the decision of the Town of Bass Lake is advisory only.
It is your responsibility to convince the Board of Appeals to grant the variance that you
have requested. Therefore, you should consider using any means at yo�ur disposal (i.e.,
photographs, drawings, a good verbal presentation, etc.) as you present your facts to the
Board.
At its October 2002 public hearing, the Board members decided to app�ly expiration dates
to future variances. You should be prepared to discuss this issue with the Board (i.e.,
proposed date that construction would begin, any anticipated construction delays that may
be caused by the availability of contractors, excavators etc.).

4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.
