The building is therefore a nonconforming structure (130' minimum required) and the 50% CEFMV rule will apply for construction activities. Issue: Would a variance be required for the construction of the 10' roofed open-sided entryway and a shed style roof supported by posts onto the roadside of the building? I discussed this matter with Ray Zubrod, Chairman, Sawyer County Board of Appeals. It was decided that a variance will not be required as: • The proposed roof/entry will be an open sided structure, not an enclosed addition. • The project results in the extension of an eave line, not an addition. • The roof/entryway will cover an existing sidewalk.
