The Sawyer County Board of Supervisors must ratify the denial of the change in zone
district before it becomes final. This will be scheduled for the County Board meeting on
June 17, 2004, 7:00 P.M., in the Circuit Courtroom of the Sawyer County Courthouse.
This decision is a recommendation to the County Board of Supervisors. Any person or
persons jointly aggrieved by the decision of the County Board may commence an action
in the Circuit Court for Writ of Certiorari to review the legality of the decision within 30
days after the date the decision is ratified by the County Board.

At the May 12,2004 Town of Hunter board meeting,we were confronted with a negative
response to our request for a zone change on a parcel of land fronting County Hwy B.
That request is now before your committee.
It was never our intenrion to construct a mini-storage facility,as publicLy announced in
the publishing of the zoning change request,and in letters to properry owners.My
personal Yeelings would oppose that concept for aesthetic reasons.
I was told,when applying for the zone change,that property owners within 300 fr.of that
area would be notified.[obviously misunderstood that to mean withm 300 ft.of the
rezone area.This would have encompassed the J.Kelsey property on the east,&ihe U.S.
Dept.of Agriculture/Federal Forest across from our property on the north.
The storage and rental building that we propose to construct,would be approximately
3000 sq.ft on one level,with a walk out basement area,also used for boat storage rental.
This facility would have been in keeping with the exterior design of our land
development project,which is in keeping with Northwoods aesthetics,i.e.wood,stone,&
stain colors to blend with the natural woods area.
Enclosed is a brochwe of the Flintridge land development project.The parcels in the
rezone request aze numbered 35&36.Our brochure also notes that the pazcels fronting
Hwy.B may be used for business purposes.
In the 12 years since beginning our development,we have sold 9 parcels of land for
residential development.A(1 of Yhe pazcels sold to date have been on the south end of the
property,as noted on our enclosed brochure.There has been no interest in the property
facing Hwy B,perhaps due to the high traffic and noise level of logging trucks It should,
however,have commercial value to tourism related business.

Flintridge Trails Development
The property being developed as Flintridge nails is located in Sawyer County on Highway B about 16 miles east of Hayward,
Wisconsin. The entrance is approximately 2.5 miles east of Highway A. The property will be sub-divided into parcels of approxi-
mately one and one-half acres or larger, and ultimately there can be 37 lots. Flintridge nails is in a beautiful wooded area, will con-
tain roads, trails and ponds which will be maintained by all lot owners through their association. It is bounded on the south by the
Chippewa Flowage (land owned by the State of Wisconsin) and the north by the Chequamegon National Forest (under jurisdiction
of the U.S. Dept of Agriculture).
In order to preserve the natural setting of the area, protect the individual lot owner's privacy and property values, covenants
� will be a part of the deed to each parcel. All parcels, naturally are subject to Sawyer County Zoning and building requirements, and
all covenants are intended to work in combination with County and State zoning and building codes.

Your application for a Change in Zone District will be considered at a Public Hearing
before the Sawyer County Zoning Committee on
May 21, 2004
This Hearing will begin at 9:00 A.M. in the Sawyer County Courthouse, 10610 Main
Street, Hayward, Wisconsin.
It is recommended that either you or a representative be present at the Hearing. A lack of
information about the application may result in unnecessary delay of a decision. Failure to
appear may also result in the denial of the application.
If it is impossible for a representative be present, please submit a written statement in care
of this office directed to James Bassett, Chairman of the Zoning Committee. This
statement should include your proposed intentions, the purpose of the request, and a
description of the general terrain and surrounding development. Photographs of the
property and/or buildings would be beneficial. Indicate the undue hardship inflicted upon
the owner by conforming to the present zone district and the compatibility of the proposed
use with the surrounding land uses. Convenience and financial loss or gain does not
constitute zoning hardship.
Your application will come before the Town Board for their review. Please contact
the Town Clerk, Patricia Swaffield, 462-9429 to confirm the date and obtain the
time of the Town Board meeting for your attendance or the attendance of your
agent.
