On, Friday, May 15, 2009 the Sawyer County Zoning Committee approved your
application for change of zone district on the following described real estate to wit:
A pazcel ofland 440'wide and 660'deep,being part ofthe SW 1/4 SW 1/4,
517,T 39N,R 9W;Pazcel 11.1.Change from district Agricultural One to district
ResidentiallRecreational Two.Purpose of request is for the location/operation of a
24 site RV seasonal campground.
The Sawyer County Zoning Corrunittee approved the application with the conditions
that the campground property(6.6 acres)and the remaining 33.40 acres remain in
the same ownership. A document is to be drafted joining the two parcels together
and recorded within 6 rmonths following the approvai of the change in zone district.
Findings of Fact of the Zoning Committee:It would not be damaging to the rights of
others or property values;It would not destroy prime agricultural lands;and it would not
create traffic or highway access problems.
The Sawyer County Board of Supervisors must ratify the approval ofthe change in zone
district before it becomes final. This will be scheduled for the County Board meeting on
June 18,2009 at 6:30 P.M.,in the Circuit Courtroom of the Sawyer County Courthouse.
This decision is a recommendation to the County Board of Supervisors. Any person or
persons jointly aggrieved by the decision of the County Board may commence an action in
the Circuit Court for Writ of Certiorari to review the legality of the decision within 30
days after the date the decision is ratified by the County Board.

The Sawyer County Zoning Committee, having held a public hearing pursuant to Section
59.69 (5) (e), Wisconsin Statutes, notice thereof having been given as provided by law
and being duly informed of the facts pertinent to the proposed changes, hereby
recommends that the petitions described as follows be approved:
TOWN OF SAND LAKE
1) Jennifer Metcalf. A parcel of land 440' wide and 660' deep, being part of the SW 1/4
SW 1/4, S 17, T 39N, R 9W; Parcel 11. 1. Change from District Agricultural One to
District Residential/Recreational Two. Purpose of request is for the location/operation
of a 24 site RV seasonal campground. The Committee approved with the conditions
that the campground property (6.6 acres) and the remaining 33.40 acres remaiil in the
same ownership. A document is to be drafted joining the two parcels together and
recorded within 6 months following the approval of the change in zone district.
Bnice Miller motioned to approve the application.
Warren Johnson seconded the motion.
Arlene Mizerka voted no.
Motion carried.

DEAR Mrs. Metcalf:
Enclosed is your revised Permit#57-0010-09 for a commercial access from your property to STH 70, in the Town of Sand Lake.
The following special provisions apply:
• A wider tum radii(type C intersection)is required as per attach plan.
• An 18"(arch)x 50'culvert pipe with apron endwalls is required.
• An existing driveway to the east must be removed. Removal includes the following: The ditch line must
be restored to match the surrounding ditch; any gravel must be removed; topsoil, mulch,and grass seed
must be put down to facilitate the area's restoration and to discourage-any future use of the removed
driveway
• In the event traffic volumes at this driveway location exceed 100 vehicles per day (50 vehicles in and
50 vehicles out), improvement to the commercial driveway will be required to be constructed, at no
cost to the Department. Required improvements may include, but are not limited, additional turn lanes
(type B1 j and/or a by-pass lane.

This permit also serves as a work on right-of-way permit for the improvements neede� for the pe�mitted use. If constructing
improvements to the access pfease note carefully the requirements listed on each side of the permit and conform to the
construction details. Any improvements to this access must be completed within thirty days of the beginning of cnnstruction to
minimize any disruptions in the traffic flow and begin within one year from the date this permit was issued.Your permit should be
kept in a place that can be accessed readily if an inspector reviews your site during construction.

Re: Jennifer Metcalf re-zone application
We would like to comment on the re-zone application of Jennifer Metcalf
to build a campground in the Stone Lake area.
We are very much in favor ofthis inasmuch as new business of this
type is going to fill a great need in ow community, new customers for
our many businesses. Our community, as many small communities, is
constantly struggling to attract visitors, and a campground in this location
would bring much new business into our area
Yogi Beaz Camp��round was a campground on Little Sand Lake, almost
straight across Highway 70 from the proposed Metcalf campground, and
was well run and brought many people to this area for many years. It is
now a series of home sites for luxury homes. Almost all other resorts in
the area have disappeared as well, so the tourists have been lost to us.
We know that today's campground occupant generally has very nice
equipment, comes to love an azea in which they share quality time with
their family, and spends a lot of money in whatever area they visit.
The overall atmosphere of the campground is determined by the way in
which it is run. The Metcalf family has lived in this azea since it was first
settled, they have always helped and supported any activity which would
help the community, and we believe they would run a tight ship and make
sure that their guest campers were good neighbors to all. We believe they
would observe all buffer zones between their campground and neighboring
properties and would always encourage their guests to act responsibly.
We hope you will look favorably on this request. There aren't many
families that aze willing, in today's business climate, to spend this kind of
money to build a new business, and this is one that will have a great
economic impact for Stone Lake.
