However, all buildings intended to be used as dwellings must meet all code requirements and must be inspected by a licensed UDC Inspector. At a minimum the dwelling must meet requirements for foundation, load limits and exits. . There exists a "recreational dwelling" category. This is a dwelling that would not have water(plumbing), electrical or a permanent heat source such as gas or electric. A wood stove does not qualify as permanent heat. While this type of dwelling still requires the above inspections, it would not require inspections for plumbing, electrical or insulation.
