Finding of fact:It is no[a structure that qualifies for a CUP,it is a rood for a travel trailer.It is not in
mmpliance with the Town or County camping ordinance,There is no Town Camping permit,aaessory
strudures are not allowed,no septic,"walled/screened/roofed additions shall nat be constructed onto
camping equipment';and a fire number is not posted.The purpose or intent of Sawyer Coun[y Zoning
Ordinance 4.26(IJ/2J is not for camping on vacant land.It would be damaging to the rights of others and
property values in[he residen[ial area.It would have a negative effect on the development of residential
dwellings within the area.
Any person or persons jointly aggrieved by the decision of the Zoning Committee may commence an
appeal action to the Sawyer County Board of Appeals at their expense to review[he legality of the decision
within 30 days after the date of this notice.

Request: Pennit is desired for an After-The-Fact 3�' x 1 g.5' accessory structure (wooden
camper port) per section 4.26 ( 1 ) Sawyer County Zoning Ordinance.
4.26(1). . . .The construction of accessoty buildings on vacant property may only be allowed by
Conditional Use with Town and Zoning Com�nittee Approval. Granting of a Conditional Use
will require witllin 3 years for a principal dwelling Land Use Permit to be applied for and the
principal dwelling to be built within tlle permit tiine frame on the same parcel. Failure to build
principal dwelling will result in citation and order for removal of accessory structure.
Project History & Summary of Request
This request is asking to allow for- a 703 sq ft wooden camper port (see attached photos). Our office
received notification of t11is camper port earlier this suminer. This type of structure would be
classified as an accessory structure and would require pennits but also would only be allowed on
a property that contains a primary dwelling or prior approval of a CUP to be granted a 3 year time
frame in which they would need to build a primary dwelling. In conversations with the applicant
they are not ready to build a primary dwelling yet but would like to use the property for camping
for the next 3 years.
If the CUP was approved a Land Use Permit would still be required with a double pennit fee. If
the CUP is denied an order for correction letter for removal will be drafted with a date for removal
by Deceinber 1 , 2022.
Additional information for Conditional Use Permits:
Substantial evidence means faets and iilfonnation, other than inerely personal preferences
or speculation, directly pertaining to the requirements and conditions an applicant must ineet to
obtain a conditional use pet7nit and that reasonable persons would accept in support of a
conclusion.
If an applieant agrees to ineets all of tl�e i-cquirements and conditions specified in the
county ordinance or those imposed by the couuty zoning board, the county shall grant the
conditional use perinit. Any condition i�nposed must be related to the purpose of the ordinance
and be based on substantial evidence. The conditions inust be reasonable and, to the extent
practicable, measurable. The applicant inust demonstrate that the applicatioil and all
requireinents and conditions established by tlle county relating to t11e conditional use are or shall
be satisfied, both of which �nust be supported by substantial evidence. The county's decision to
approve or deny the perinit must be supported by substantial evidence.

This is Riley Grasee. I own a parcel in the town of Bass Lake on Old Timber Trail. You and I had spoken on the phone
regarding some information that you needed to complete the conditional use permit, and I got all of the measurements that
we had talked about. They are as follows:
Setback from easement trail: 64'6"
Setback from neighboring lot line: 12'4"
Setback from lowland/marshy area: 84'
Height of the structure from grade to the peak: 13'
Length of structure: 38'
W idth of structure 18'6"
Each of these measurements were taken from the nearest part of the overhang of the roof(ie edge of the overhang to the
lot line). Also, attached is the survey map with a red outline of approximately the location on the property of the structure.

Re: CUP #22-023, Riley & Emily Grasee
Granting of the conditional use would be contrary to the public interest and would not
be in compliance with the spirit and intent of the Sawyer County Zoning Ordinance,
Town of Bass Lake's Comprehensive Plan (Section 8. 10), and Town of Bass Lake
Camping Ordinance (No. 2021-06-14) because:
1) It is not a structure that qualifies for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP). It is a roof
for a travel trailer.
2) It is not in compliance with the Town or County camping ordinance. There is no
Town camping permit, accessory structures are not allowed, no septic,
". . .walled/screened/roofed additions shall not be constructed onto camping
equipment", and a fire number is not posted.
3) The purpose or intent of Sawyer County Zoning Ordinance 4.26 (1)(2) is not for
camping on vacant land.
4) It would be damaging to the rights of others and property values in the residential
area.
5) It would have a negative effect on the development of residential dwellings within
the area.
