RESOLU'TION TO AMEND SAWYF.R COUNTY OFFICIAL ZONING MAP
WHEREAS, Wisconsin law permits Sawyer County (the "CounYy") to adopt certain
zoning ordinances and amend its existing zoning ordinances, including amendments to the
County's official zoning map;
WHEREAS,the owner of real property located at the N'/2 of the W 1/2 of the NW
quarter of the NW'/�qyarter,529,T42,R07W;Parcel#028-742-29-2203:the"Property"),and
as more fully described as set forth in F,xhibit A,which is attached hereto and incorporated
herein,requested a rezoning of the Property's zoning designation from Agricultural One(A-1�
to Residential/Recreational One(RR-I)(the"Zoning Designation AmendmenY');
WHEREAS,the Spider Lake Plan&Revicw Commission("Zoning"),at its meeting on
June I,?022,reviewed the proposed Zoning Designation Amendment for the Property;
WHF,REAS,the Spider Lake Plan&Review Commission voted to recommend approva)
of the proposed Zoning Designation Amendment to the Sawyer County Board of Supervisors
("County Board");and
WHEREAS, the County Board detennined, at its meeting on .lulv 21, 2022, that
adopting/denying the proposed Zoning Designation Amendment for the Property is warranted to
protect the health,welfare and safety of its citizens.
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,by the Sawyer County Board of
Supervisors approves/denies the following:
I. Amendment to Official ZoninQ Map. The Properiy's zoning designation shall be amended

2. Additional Actions. The Sawyer County Department of Zoning and Conservation
Administrator (or his/her designee) shall take all necessary steps to ensure that the
amendment adopted herein is completed.
This Resolution is recommended for adoption/disapproval by the Sawyer County Board of

SPIDER LAKE REZONE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Sawyer County Board of Supervisors has heretofore been petitioned to
amend the Sawyer County Zone District Maps; and
WHEREAS, this Board has the legal authority to amend zone districts pursuant to
Section 59.69 (9), Wisconsin Statutes.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sawyer County Zone District
Maps, adopted March 1 , 1971 , be and the same are hereby amended as follows:
Change Zone District Agricultural One (A-1) to Zone District Residential/Recreational
One (RR-1).

Thanks for the quick reply, Jay -
That process makes sense, and the July timing should be fine.
Of 9 letters sent out, three were returned (one after the fact). At the time of the hearing, we had
received one objection (with no comments) and one letter of support (again, no comments). The late
reply had no objections. No one at the public hearing spoke with objections.
The attached image shows the zone districts in the immediate area of the applicant.

This rezone petition would still need to be approved by the full County Board of Supervisors.
Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to get it on the agenda for June anymore but will draft up a
resolution and include it on the July County Board meeting for ratification. After that it will still be
several months until GIS is updated to reflect the change but if the Town wants to proceed as it was
rezoned at the Town level I would have no issues with that. With the Town of Spider Lake approval its
just a matter of procedure that County Board still needs to adopt.

I just left you a voice mail asking the same question, but I'm seeking guidance on the notification
process (to the County) for a rezone petition which was approved at the Town of Spider Lake Board
of Supervisors meeting last night. This is a non-shoreland parcel, currently zoned A-1. The approved
request is to rezone to RR-1 for purposes of subdivision into two 5-acre parcels.
A copy of the approved petition is attached. Can you please provide guidance on the process to
formally transmit this to the County Zoning and Conservation Department for inclusion in the County
GIS system and tax records? Thank you.
