Hayward WI 54843 Dear Mr. Johnson, On May 18, 2007 the Sawyer County Zoning Committee approved the site plan for the 80 site campground authorized by conditional use public hearing in January, 2006. The conditions of approval include changing the cul de sac to travel away from the lake and meeting all setbacks. At an earlier hearing, the Zoning Committee set a June 20, 2007 deadline to obtain the permit to construct/operate the campground. Your site plan provides most of the information needed. Setbacks to lake and wetlands still need to be indicated, as well as the setbacks and dimensions of any structures you will be building, such as the office and restroom buildings. An emergency number will be needed for the campground, probably to be located at the office building. Please call the zoning office if you have any further questions on these final permit requirements. Also, application made for Conditional Use. The Town Board has approved both applications. The Sawyer County Zoning Committee approved the rezone application with the restriction that any lots developed in this area be at least 5 acres in size. Findings of Fact of the Zoning Committee: It would not be damaging to the rights of others or property values. It would be compatible with the Town of Sand Lake Comprehensive plan. The Sawyer County Board of Supervisors must ratify the approval of the change in zone district before it becomes final. This will be scheduled for the County Board meeting on February 16, 2006, 6:30 P.M., in the Circuit Courtroom of the Sawyer County Courthouse. The Sawyer County Zoning Committee also approved the Conditional Use application with restrictions: 1 . Not to exceed 100 sites. 2. Grant the option to come back at a later date to amend the CUP for more sites. 3. Campground is not to have any gas-motorized watercraft. Findings of Fact of the Zoning Committee: It would be compatible with the surrounding uses and the are. It would be in keeping with the Sand Lake plan. This decision is a recommendation to the County Board of Supervisors. Any person or persons jointly aggrieved by the decision of the County Board may commence an action with the Sawyer County Board of Appeals to review the decision in whole or in part, within thirty (30) days after the filing of the decision in the office of the Committee.
