The parcel described above is in the Forestry One zone district. Enclosed please find an
application for a Conditional Use Public Hearing on the above described property for the
purpose of after-the-fact construction of a substandard size 18'x 22' cabin.
The signed application and $200 public hearing fee are due Friday, February 5, 2010 in
order to be placed on the nearest public hearing schedule. The conditional use/rezone
flowchart shows the steps leading to approval by the Zoning Committee. Notice that the
Town of Meadowbrook is requested to give an opinion. The request would be on the
agenda for their March Town Board meeting, which may require prior review by the
Meadowbrook Planning Committee. After approval of the conditional use, you have one
year to reobtain the necessary Land Use permit which we have on hold in our office with
a $175 check from you dated 03/30/09.

On December 30, 2009 our office received a compliant about the construction of a
principle structure at the above address without being issued a LUP or in this case a
Special Use Permit to build in (F-1) Forestry One Zone District. Your actual permit,
dated Apri13, 2009 was on hold in our office waiting for the town board approval. On
Jan 6, 2010, I spoke with Jennie Pasanen, the town clerk of Meadowbrook. She informed
me that the town had given approval for the Special Use Permit but no one had notified
us at Sawyer County. Therefore the permit had not been issued and we still had your
permit and check on hold.
On January 4, 2010 the Zoning Administrator, William Christman, and I visited your
property and found that the size of the actual dwelling was 18'x 22'. On your original
LUP you had stated that the cabin would be 20'x 25' and would meet the minimal 500 sq.
foot requirement for habitable area. Since the cabin does not meet this minimal
requirement at 18'x 22' it needs to be corrected by one of the following 3 options:
1. Enlarge the cabin so it meets the minimum requirement
2. Apply for an after-the-fact variance
3. Apply for an after-the-fact Conditional Use Permit (CUP)
Also included with this letter is a copy of a letter sent to you stating that we will hold
your application waiting the Town Board's approval and a copy of your Special Use
Permit. Please contact me by January 15, 2010 so that we may discuss this issue. Office
hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Your application for a Conditional Use will be considered at a Public Hearing before the
Sawyer County Zoning Committee on Friday,March 19,2010.
This Hearing will begin at 8:30 A.M. in the Sawyer County Courthouse, 10610 Main
Street,Hayward,Wisconsin.
It is recommended that either you or a representative be present at the Hearing. A lack of
information about the application may result in unnecessary delay of a decision. Failure to
appear may also result in the denial of the application.
If it is impossible for a representative to be present, please submit a written statement in
care of this office directed to James Bassett,the Chairman of the Zoning Committee. This
statement should include your proposed intentions, the purpose of the request, and a
description of the general terrain and surrounding development. Photographs of the
property and surrounding area is encouraged. Indicate how the proposed use would not
be contrary to the public interest,et cetera.
Your application will come before the Town Board for their review. Some
townships also have a Planning Commission.Please contact the Town Clerk, Jennie
Pasanen 943-2388 to confirm the date and obtain the time of the Planning
Commission and Town Board meetings for your attendance or the attendance of
your agent.
