Dear Mr. Hort,
We would like to remind you that the placement of a hunting cabin that does not meet the
minimum dimensional requirements, which was approved at public hearing on August
21, 2009, expires on August 21, 2010.
If you are planning to proceed with this construction, please complete and return the
enclosed permit applications. It also will be necessary for you to obtain a certified soil
test and sanitary permit from a licensed plumber.
If the applications not returned by August 21, 2010, it will be necessary to go through the
public hearing process again before placing the home. The Sawyer County Zoning Office
can issue citations, including fines, if the construction is completed without the proper
permits. If you have decided not to proceed with this project after all, please let us know.
If you require additional time to take out these permits, your request for an extension can
be placed on the July 16, 2010 Zoning Committee agenda.

Notice is hereby given that on August 21, 2009 the Sawyer County Zoning Committee approved
the following application:
The N1/2 of the S 1/2 of the SW 1/4 SW1/4, S 31, T 39N, R 4W; Parcel 11.4. Volume
788 Records page 435. 9.94 acres total. Property is zoned Forestry One. Permit is desired
for the placement of a himting cabin in the Forestry One zone district that does not nzeet
the dimensional requirements of 500 square feet of minimum floor area and 20 feet of
minimum dwelling width. The Town Board has denied the application with additional
comments at its Ju1y meeting and submitted additional comments at its August meeting.
This application has been tabled from the July 17, 2009 Public Hearing.
The Sawyer County Zoning Committee approved the application with the condition that t11e
Town of Draper approves. Another Town Resolution will be sent to the Town of Draper.
Findings of Fact of the Zoning Committee: It would not be damaging to the rights of others or
property values. It is getting control where it belongs, at the lowest common denominator, the
township.
Any person or persons jointly aggrieved by the decision of the Zoning Committee may
commence an action with the Sawyer County Board of Appeals to review the decision in whole
or in part, within thirty(30) days of the date following the date of the signing of this letter.

Subject: UDC Requirements for Smaller Dwellings
Good Morning:
The following information was provided by Steve Boss.
. The UDC does not specify a minimum dwelling size. However, all buildings intended to be used as
dwellings must meet all code requirements and must be inspected by a licensed UDC Inspector. At a
minimum the dwelling must meet requirements for foundation, load limits and exits.
. There exists a "recreational dwelling" category. This is a dwelling that would not have water(plumbing),
electrical or a permanent heat source such as gas or electric. A wood stove does not qualify as permanent
heat. While this type of dwelling still requires the above inspections, it would not require inspections for
plumbing, electrical or insulation.

788 Records page 435. 9.94 acres total. Property is zoned Forestry One. Permit is desired
for the placement of a hunting cabin in the Forestry One zone district that does not meet

minimum dwelling width. The Town Board has denied the application.
The application has been tabled to provide an opportunity for the applicant to contact the Town
of Draper Uniform Dwelling Code inspector, Troy Kadlecek, T.A.K. Inspections, 715/339-6288,
to determine if the cabin he selected will meet the minimum standards required by the State of
Wisconsin. The application is also being sent to the Town of Draper to see if the Town wishes to
place this item on its August agenda. Brenda, please give the zoning office a call if this item will
be placed on the Town's agenda.
This application will be on the Sawyer County Zoning Committee agenda for the public hearing
Friday, August 21, 2009.

Your application for a Conditional Use will be considered at a Public Hearing before the
Sawyer County Zoning Committee on Friday,July 17,2009.
This Hearing will begin at 8:30 A.M. in the Sawyer County Courthouse, 10610 Main
Street,Hayward,Wisconsin.
It is recommended that either you or a representative be present at the Hearing. A lack of
information about the application may result in unnecessary delay of a decision. Failure to
appeaz may also result in the denial of the application.
If it is impossible for a representative to be present,please submit a writter.statement in
caze of this office directed to James Bassett,the Chau-man of the Zor.ing Committee. This
statement should include your propcsed intentions, the purpose of the :equest, and a
description of the general terrain and surrounding development. Photographs of the
propeRy and surrounding area is encouraged. Indicate how the proposed use would not
be contrary to the public interest,et cetera.
