Findings of Fact: It would not be damaging to the rights of others or property values. It would not create
an air quality,water supply,or pollution problem.
Any person or persons jointly aggrieved by the decision of the Zoning Committee may appeal the decision
to the Sawyer County Board of Appeals to review the legality of the decision within 30 days of the decision
of the Zoning Committee.

Hajdasz Pit.
Request: Carry-forward of CUP 90-014. Originally approved 5/18/90 and most recently
renewed on OS/15/15. (expired OS/15/18)
Project History & Summary of Request
The carry-forward of CUP 90-014 is for the location of a non-metallic mineral extraction
operation including rock crusher. The property is 40.71 acres and zoned A-1 , A-2, and F-1 . The
existing land use in this area is light residential light agriculture. The nearest residence other than
the owners is about 2000' away.
The Sawyer County Zoning & Conservation Department currently does not have any
complaints for this file.
The current hours of operation are 7 AM to 8 PM, Monday - Friday with crushing
periodically from 6 AM — 8 PM
Financial assurance has been received for $9,000 and expires April 4, 2020 in the form of
an irrevocable letter of credit.
Additional information for Conditional Use Permits:
Substantial evidence means facts and information, other than merely personal preferences
or speculation, directly pertaining to the requirements and conditions an applicant must meet to
obtain a conditional use permit and that reasonable persons would accept in support of a
conclusion.
If an applicant agrees to meets all of the requirements and conditions specified in the
county ardinance or those imposed by the county zoning board, the county shall grant the
conditional use permit. Any condition imposed must be related to the purpose of the ordinance
and be based on substantial evidence. The conditions must be reasonable and, to the extent
practicable, measurable. The applicant must demonstrate that the application and all
requirements and conditions established by the county relating to the conditional use are or shall
be satisfied, both of which must be supported by substantial evidence. The county's decision to
approve or deny the permit must be supported by substantial evidence.

HAJDASZ PIT
Proposed Activities:
Sand and Gravel Extraction — periodically
Conveying — periodically
Loading — periodically
Crushing — brief periods
Screening — possibly for brief periods
Hours of Operation:
Cnisher — 6:00 am — 8:00 pm (periodically for brief periods)
Normal hours of operation — 7:00 am — 8 :00 pm (Monday — Friday)
Access Route•
Access is a driveway that connects the pit to Hajdasz Road.
Operation Equipment:
Equipment typical of non-metallic mineral extraction will be used in the pit including, but
not limited to: dump trucks, front-end loaders, excavators, dozers, portable rock crusher,
portable conveyors, and possibly a screening plant.
Erosion Control:
To control erosion at the site topsoil will not be stripped from areas larger than where
non-metallic minerals are to be extracted at that time. Areas not actively being mined will
be reclaimed in accardance with the reclamation plan for the site.

Your application for a Conditional Use will be considered at a Public Hearing before the Sawyer County
Zoning Committee on July 19,2019.
This Hearing will begin at 830 A.M.in the Sawyer County Courthouse, 10610 Main Street, Hayward,
Wisconsin.
It is recommended that either you or a representative be present at the Hearing. A lack of information
about the application may result in unnecessary delay of a decision. Failure to appear may also result in
the denial of the application.
If it is impossible for you or a representative to be present, please submit a written statement directed to
Ronald Buckholtz,Chairman of the Zoning Committee addressed to this office.The statement should
include your proposed intentions or purpose of the request and a description of the general terrain and
surrounding development. Indicate how the proposal would not be contrary to the public interest.
Photographs of the property and surrounding area are encouraged.
