ACCESS ROUTE: One driveway onto the project site provides access to State Highway 63. OPERATION EQUIPMENT Sand&gravel operation equipment will include: gravel crusher, loaders, dozers,portable conveyors, excavators,dump trucks or any trucks required for mobility of equipment,scale,machinery maintenance equipment and related aggregate producing equipment. OPERATION PLAN Erosion Control Runoff from existing and future extraction areas will be controlled within the project site with berms and natural barriers. During extraction operations,the perimeter slopes will not be steeper than 3 feet horizontal to 1 foot vertical (3:1)when the depth exceeds 10 feet. Environmental Considerations All operations will be performed in a manner that will minimize any production of noise, vibration or dust which could be annoying to people. 2 OWNER—SITE IIYFORMATIOIY The Bob Thompson& Sons Inc. Shop pit is located in Sawyer County, within the Lots 1 thru 4 of CSM Volume 31 Page 30,NE Y4 SE '/4 S31 T41N R09W and Part of SW '/4 SW '/4 Part of NW Y4 SW '/4 NW '/4 NW Y4 Part ofNE '/4 NW '/4 S32 T41N R09W, Parcel ID: 010-941-31-4407,4101. 010-94]-32-3304, 3204, 2201,2103. Known as Thompson's Shop Pit. Bob Thompson& Sons Inc. has excavated gravel since 1984 on this area of land.Access to this site is one gated driveway off from State Highway 63. EXTRACTION SEQUENCE Approximately 30,000 Cubic Yards of material will be extracted each year. The perimeter slopes of new extraction will be 3:1 or flatter. Topsoil, overburden,and the sand and gravel will be staged on the present pit area. RECLAMATION Reclamation will begin by following the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource Ordinance—NR135. At this time the area is far from exhaustion. We have no immediate plans to close this pit. Our slope plans will be 3:1 slope followed with a cover of topsoil and erosion control materials.After these steps are taken we will begin seeding(State DOT Mix)and mulching,to establish a firm vegetated growth.
