On May 9,2001 I wrote a letter(copy attached)to Ms.Gleta Martin concerning the
placement of the"Clearview Acres"sign at the intersection of McClaine Road and
County Highway B. This sign is partially located on your property and the right-of-way
of County Highway B. In the letter I asked that the sign be removed by Friday,May ll,

Enclosed are copies of two citations. One citation to be issued to Ms. Martin and the

RE:Sign Placement at the Intersection of County Highway B and McClaine Road—
Violation of the Sawyer County Zoning Ordinance
Dear Ms.Martin:
Yesterday,while traveling on County Aighway B,I observed a new"Clearview
Acres"sign sitting on a wagon at the intersection of County Highway B and McClaine
Road. This sign is in violation of the Sav✓yer County Zoning Ordinance and must be
removed by Friday,May 11,2001. Failure to remove the sign will be considered a daily
violation of the Sawyer County Zoning Ordinance and would subject you to a forfeiture
of not less than$10.00 nor more than$200.00 per each day of the violation.
Any sign that you place at this intersection must meet the requirements of the sawyer
County Zoning Ordinance(Class E type 2 sign). These requirements aze stated below:
Class E
Type 2:Signs advertising a business or activity conducted,area of interest,or service available.Such signs
shall not exceed 12 square feet in area,and no more than two(2)such signs relating to any one use shall be
permitted in the approachin�direction alon�any one hi�Mvay. A lar�er number of signs and a greater
distance from the premises may be permitted by the Zonin�Committee by a conditional use permit finding
it necessary for directing the traveling public. Signs shall no[be wi[hin 300£eet of an exis[i�o residence;
shall not exceed 20 feet in height above the groand;and shall be located a minimum of 300 feet apart along
the highway.
Please note that the sign cannot exceed 12 square feet in azea. The present sign is 8'x 12
with an area of 96 square feet. I must also remind you that any sigu that you place at
this intersection must meet the above requirements.

RE:Sign Placement at the Intersection of McClaine Road and Tiger Cat Road—
Violation of the Sawyer County Zoning Ordinance
Dear Ms.Martin:
Today I received a complaint that the 8'x 12'Clearview Acres sign,the sign that was
previously located at the intersection of County Highway B and McClaine Road,had
been relocated to the intersection of McClaine Road and Tiger Cat Road. I investigated
the complaint and the sign is indeed located at that intersection(Parcel.6.1,S 29,T 41N,
R 07W).
This sign is in violation of the Sawyer Cotmty Zoning Ordinance and must be removed by
Wednesday,July 4,2001. Failure to remove the sign will be considered a daily violation
of the Sawyer County Zoning Ordinance and would subject you to a forfeiture of not less
than$10.00 nor more than$200.00 per each day of the violation.
Any sign that you place at this intersection must meet the requirements of the Sawyer
County Zoning Ordinance(Class E type 2 sign). These requirements are stated below:
Class E
Type 2:Si�ns advertising a business or activity conducted,area of interest,or service available.Such si�ns
shall not exceed 12 square fee[in area,and no more than two(2)such signs relatin�[o any one use shall be
permitted in the approaching direction along any one highway. A larger number of signs and a greater
distance from the premises may be permitted by[he Zoning Committee by a conditional use permit finding
it necessary for directing[he traveling public. Si�ns shall not be within 300 feet of an existing residence;
shall no[exceed 20 fee[in heieht above the�round;and shall be loca[ed a minimum of 300 fee[apart along
the highway.
Please note that the sign cannot exceed 12 square feet iu area. The present sign is 8'x 12
with an area of 96 square feet I must also remind you that any sign that you place at
this intersection must meet the above requirements.
This si�n continues to be a problem from earlier this year. This is the second letter that I
have written regarding the location/size requirements for this sign. I highly recommend
that prior to placing this sign,that you visit this office for a discussion pertaining to sign
requirements.
