Application is for: the construction of a 28'x32' replacement dwelling with loft, at a setback distance of 48'
to the ordinary high-water mark of Round Lake, and in a condominium where 20,000 square feet is not
available to be allocated to this unit. The replacement dwelling shall be constructed on the footprint of the
exisring dwelling unit.
Variance is requested as: Section 4.49(1), Sawyer County Zoning Ordinance, would require a minimum
setback distance of 75' to the ordinary high-water mark of the lake, and Section 4.414 would require that
20,000 square feet be allocated for the construction of this unit.

Dear Mr. Lyberg:
I have enclosed the following documents with this letter:
• Inspection Report for the above property,
• "Court Decisions Regarding the Granting of Variances,"
• "Application for Variance - Additional Information," and a completed
• "Variance Application."
Please review the inspection report, read the summary on court decisions and complete
the request for additional information.
If you believe that you meet the criteria far the requested variance(s), you should review
the variance application for correctness, sign it, and return it to this office with a check in
the amount of $250.00 made out to the "Sawyer County Zoning Administration" by
Friday, September 7, 2001 for hearings in October 2001 .
The "Application for Variance - Additional Information" must also be filled out and
returned with the Variance Application. Both documents together make up the entire
application that will be reviewed by the Sawyer County Board of Appeals. Failure to
return both of the documents or failure to complete either document in its entirety will
cause the variance application to be rejected by this office.
Your "Variance Application" will be reviewed at two public hearings. The first hearing
will held by the Town of Hayward at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 9, 2001 . You should
contact Jodi Longtine, Clerk, Town of Hayward, at (715) 634-4123 (office) ar 634-4958
(home) to confirm this date.
The Sawyer County Board of Appeals will hold the second hearing at 7:00 P.M.,
Tuesday, October 16, 2001 in the Circuit Courtroom located in the Sawyer County
Courthouse. You or your representative should attend each hearing, especially the hearing
conducted by the Sawyer County Board of Appeals. Only the Board of Appeals can grant
the variance, the decision of the Town of Hayward is advisory only.
It is your responsibility to convince the Board of Appeals to grant the variance that you
have requested. Therefore, you should consider using any means at your disposal (i.e.,
photographs, drawings, a good verbal presentation, etc.) as you present your facts to the
Board.
