RE:Land Use Permit(LUP)01-372 Construction of a 40'X 90'Detached
Garage/Storage Building
Dear Mr.Jacob:
On August 13,2001 this office issued LUP#O1-372 for the construcrion of a detached
garage/storage buildinS on your property adjacent to Greenwood Lane.This property is
located in the Residential One(R-I)zone district. The following office comment was
placed on the second page of the application`Building shall not be used for commercial
purposes."Today this office received a complaint that the building will be used for a
"sweatshirt"business.
Today I visited the property at approximately 1:00 P.M.to attempt to discuss this matter
with you,but there was not any one on the premises. I did look through the"storage"
building window and I observed sweatshirts stacked on tables within the building.
Mr.Jacob,the building cannot be used for commercial purposes. Such use would be a
violation of the uses allowed in the R-1 zone district and would subject you to a citation
in the amount of$212.00. Additionally,Section 16.0 Enforcement and Penalties,of the
Sawyer County Zoning Ordinance states in part"Any person,firm or corporation who
violates or refuses to comply with any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be subject
to a forfeiture of not less than ten($10.00)dollars nor more than two hundred($200.00)
dollars per offense,together with the taxable cost of action." I would recommend to the
Court that the forfeiture be the higher amount($200.00).
