Dear Mr. and Mrs. Manning,
On December 15, 1998, the Sawyer County Board of Appeals approved as amended your vari-
ance on the following described real estate to wit:
Lot l , being part of Govt Lots 1 & 3 , S 7 & 8, T 37N, R 9W, Parcel : 1 .2. WD
Vol 586 Records Page 483 ; CSM Vol 11 Page 1 S . 3 .09 acres. Property is zoned
Residential/Recreational One (RR- 1 ). Application is for Cabin #1 (white cabin):
the construction of a 8 'x26' enclosed porch onto an existing cabin at a setback of
41 ' from the ordinary high-water mark of Lake Chetac, the replacement of an ex-
isting roof at a setback of 49' from the lake and the construction of a 8 'x26' room
enlargement addition onto the rear of the cabin, all at a cost exceeding 50% of the
current estimated fair market value. Cabin #2 (blue cabin): The construction of a
8'x26' enclosed porch onto an existin� cabin at a setback of 40' from the ordinary
high-water mark of Lake Chetac, the replacement of an existing roof at a setback
of 48 ' from the ordinary high-water mark of the lake and the construction of a
8 'x26' room enlargement addition onto the rear of the cabin at a setback of 25 '
from the centerline of the access road; all at a cost exceeding 50% of the current
estimated fair market value. Variance is requested as Section 4.49(2), Sawyer
County Zoning Ordinance, would require a waterline setback of 61 ' (Cabin # 1 )
and 65 ' (Cabin #2) as the avera�e waterliiie setbacic was determined at 61 ' and
65 ' from the ordinary high-water mark of the lake, Section 4.21 (5) would require
a minimum setback of 30' from the centerline of a private access easement, and
Section 10.2 restricts the cost of eonstruction to less than 50% of the current esti-
mated fair market value. The Town Board has approved the application.
The Board of Appeals approved the ainended application as follo�vs: approve construction with
the exception that the porches cannot be added to the lake side, must be added to cabin sides,
construction cost not to exceed 50%.
Findings of Fact of the Board of Appeals: There would be no change in the use in the zone dis-
trict. It would not be damaging to the rights of others or property values. There wotild be no in-
crease in the non-conformity of the buildings.

Any person or persons jointly aggrieved by this decision of die Board of Appcals may commence
an action in the Circuit Court for Writ of Certiorari to review the legality of this decision within
30 days after the date of this notice.
