Wiesshoff 412 South Main St. DeForest, WI 53532 RE: Parcel .8.2, S 33, T 40N, R 04W, Town of Draper, #7594 N Blaisdell Lake Road: Shoreline Buffer Zone Removal Dear Mr. Wiesshof£ On Thursday, September 27, 2001 I visited your property regarding a complaint about shoreline buffer zone clearing. Based on my visit, I determined that a buffer zone violation exists. The citation fee for this violation is $704.00. The Sawyer County Zoning Ordinance, Section 4.410REMOVAL OF SHORELINE COVER, states: (2�(a�No more than 30 feet of the shoreline as measured alon�the ordinary highwater mark, may be clear cut to the depth of the area prescribed in the Lake Class Development Standards. On contiguous frontage,there shall be a 30 feet separation of uncut area between clear-cut corridors. Based on my measurements, it appears that approximately 60' of shoreline vegetation has been removed. My recommendation is that you select the area where the 30' lake access corridor will be located on the shareline, then allow the vegetation in the remainder of the shoreline to return to its natural state. This vegetation should restore itself within a year. I will not issue a citation if you follow this recommendation. Another concern is the slab adjacent to the dock. I consider this slab to be a walkway. As such, the ordinance requires that "Stairs and walkways shall be visually inconspicuous and inconspicuously colored as viewed from the adjacent waterway." This slab shall be painted an inconspicuous color so that it blends in with the shoreline vegetation. Please contact this office if you have any additional questions or comments.
