Re: Pumping raw sewage into Hwy 27 ditch line.

Dear Mr. Sheskey,
I addressed a sewage complaint on your property several weeks back. I witnessed that you
are indeed pumping liquid sewage from your septic tank and or dry well into the Hwy 27
ditch line. I saw a half horse power black Wayne pump sitting on a cinderblock hooked up
to a hose from the drywell to a 100' red hose on the ground from the pump to the highway
ditch line. StOp this practice immediately!
It appears that this has been an on going practice for many years. It is very unreasonable
to have an electrical hookup in your yard in this location other than to run this electrical
pump.
I believe that you have a very old septic sewer system that is experiencing old age failure.
Old sewer systems that are quite small in size have a tendency to fail during the springtime,
especially in rainy saturated conditions. Should you encounter sewage on the ground or
slow water drainage your sewer system is full of water aod must be pumped out by a
licensed pumper, you cannot do it yourself.
I will set forth the following "Order for Correction."
1) Do not continue to pump sewage onto the ground.
2) Disconnect the washer discharge onto the ground at the northwest corner of
your dwelling. Wash water discharge must go into the sewer system.
3) Call a plumber to evaluate your old septic sewer system problems. I think
that you have a failed system. Average life expectancy of systems is only
twenty to thirty years. I suspect your system could be thirty to forty years
old.
Please follow up on these recommendations. Should I discover or a witness comes forth
with you pumping sewage, I wi11 not hesitate to issue a citation for illegal pumping.
I am asking for your cooperation on these matters. Should the plumber that evaluates your
system deem it failed,you will have to replace your system. Enclosed is information on the
Wisconsin Fund Grant Program. This grant will pay for approximately fifty percent of the
