Dear Mr. Macho,
On the 10« of June, 2004,I was requested to verify soils and conduct a site evaluation of
your septic sewer system.
You cannot replace your old collapsing steel tank unless a soil and site evaluation is
conducted. Soil tester Kevin McKinney, Eric Wellauer, Zoning Sanitation Technician and
I evaluated the soils and sewer system. The problems we encountered are: (See inspection
report).
1) Wis Dot requires a 110' sewer setback from State Hwy 27/77. Your sewer vent and
bed are approximately 105'.
2) Restrictive soils are approximately 21" below your system, old code, prior to 1969
requires 24" of unrestricted soils below your system, the new code requires 36".
In conclusion,your system fails and must be replaced. I suspect, due to poor soils and
limited space available you will end up with a holding tank.
The old steel tank will continue to deteriorate aud completely collapse at any time. If it
does,you may have a real mess in your front yard and back pressure may push raw sewage
back into your home.
I suggest that you contact a plumber as soon as possible to install a holding tank. I will set
a final deadline to correct this problem on or before the ls� of September 2004.
