Variance is requested as: Section 4.21(3), Sawyer Counry Zoning Ordinance, would require a minimum setback distance of 63' to the centerline of the road, Section 18.4 would require a minimum setback distance of 30' to the side lot line and Section 10.2 would restrict the cost of construction to less than 50% of the current estimated fair market value. Getzelman 15035 W Goss Road Hayward, WI 54843 Re: Parcel -8.5.4&5, 530, T 40N, R 08W, Town of Bass Lake, #7878 N Evergreen Avenue: Application for Variance Dear Mr. Getzelman: I have enclosed the following documents with this letter. • Inspection Report for the above property, • Application for Variance — Additional Information, • Board of Appeals Conclusions of Law Form (This is the form that the Board members will use to determine if your situation meets the requirements for the granting of the variance that you have requested.) and a • completed "Variance Application." If you believe that you meet the criteria for the requested variance you should review the inspection report and application for correctness. If correct, sign the application and return it to this office with a check in the amount of $250.00 made out to the "Sawyer County Zoning Administration" by Friday, September 3, 2004 for hearings in October 2004. The "Application for Variance - Additional Information" must also be filled out and returned with the Variance Application. Both documents together make up the entire application that will be reviewed by the Sawyer County Board of Appeals. Failure to return both of the documents or failure to complete either document in its entirety will cause the variance application to be rejected by this office. The "Variance Application" will be reviewed at two public hearings. The first hearing will be held by the Town of Bass Lake at 6:30 P.M., Monday, October 1 l , 2004. You should contact Shirley A. Miller, Town of Bass Lake Clerk, at (715) 634-8469 (Town Hall) to confirm this date. The Sawyer County Board of Appeals will hold the second hearing at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 19, 2004, in the large courtroom located in the Sawyer County Courthouse. You or your agent should attend each hearing, especially the hearing conducted by the Sawyer County Board of Appeals. Only the Board of Appeals can grant the variance, the decision of the Town of Bass Lake is advisory only. ' It is your responsibility to convince the Board of Appeals to grant the variance that has been requested. Therefore, you should consider using any means at your disposal (i.e., photographs, drawings, a good verbal presentation, etc.) as you present the facts to the Board. Mr. Getzelman, you submitted an estimated cost of construction (materials $16,097.56 and labar $1500.00) of$17,097.56. Your calculation was $31,097.56 total cost, but I assume that you misread the $1500 as $15,000. The assessed value of the dwelling is $19,600 which results in a current estimated fair market value (CEFMV) of$25,100 and a 50% CEFMV of$12,550.
