The purpose fQr obtaining these elevations was to determine if the existing ground at your proposed building site is above the 100-year floodplain elevation as determined for the Chippewa River just upstream of your property in a report entitled "Regional Flood Profile Determination for the Chippewa River Reach between Lot 2, CSM861, Section 2, T38N, R6W and Lot 5, CSM 3489, Section 3�, T39N, R6W within the Town of Ojibwa, Sawyer Count, Wisconsin,�April 2004". The 100-year flood elevation determined in that report,at Section No. 15,was 1255.90 feet NAVD88. The lowest ground elevation determined at your proposed building site was 1257.46 feet NAVD88, indicating that the e�sting ground at your proposed building site is above the 100- year flood elevation determined for the Chippewa River just upstream of your property. The 100-year flood is the flood which may be expected to occur once in every 100 years. In any given year,there is a 1%chance that the 100-year flood may occur or be exceeded. During a typical 30-year mortgage period,the 100-year flood has a 26%chance of occurring.
