ON JUNE 6TH, 2017, AT APPROXIMATELY 5:19AM, I DEPUTY SHEPARD OF THE SAWYER COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, WAS DRIVING EAST ON ST HWY 77. WHEN I NEARED THE INTERSECTION WITH PENINSULA RD I OBSERVED A TRUCK ALONG THE TREE LINE SOUTH OF HWY 77 AND EAST
OF PENINSULA RD. THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER RUNNING AND WAS SMASHED INTO A TREE. I COULD SEE A SUBJECT IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT
THAT WAS LATER IDENTIFIED AS ANTHONY H. JALOWITZ. EMS PERSONNEL RESPONDED TO THE SCENE AND JALOWITZ WAS DETERMINED TO BE
DECEASED WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF RESUSCITATION. HE HAD A MULTITUDE OF INJURIES WITH COULD BE THE CAUSE OF DEATH. IT
APPEARED THAT JALOWITZ WAS TRAVELING EAST ON HWY 77 WHEN HE LEFT THE ROAD ON THE SOUTH SIDE. HE TRAVELED STRAIT DOWN THE
GRASSY INCLINE TO THE TREE LINE, WHERE THE VEHICLE STRUCK A TREE IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, BUT MORE TOWARDS THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK AS WELL AS THE TREE INDICATING HE HIT IT AT A HIGH SPEED. THERE
WAS DEBRIS ALL AROUND THE TRUCK. IT DID NOT APPEAR THAT JALOWITZ ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BREAKS OR TURN AT ALL WHEN HE LEFT
THE ROAD. HE TRAVELED APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET BEFORE MAKING CONTACT WITH THE TREE. ALCOHOL CONTAINERS WERE RECOVERED IN THE
DEBRIS AND MARIJUANA WAS RECOVERED FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE ODOR OF ALCOHOL WAS APPARENT IN THE CAB OF THE TRUCK.
JALOWITZ WAS PINNED IN THE VEHICLE BETWEEN THE SEAT AND THE DASHBOARD. IT REQUIRED SEVERAL PEOPLE TO REMOVE HIM. JALOWITZ
