20191207 quadererON DECEMBER 7TH, 2019 AT APPROXIMATELY 0510, I DEPUTY JORSTAD WITH THE SAWYER
COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE WAS DISPATCHED TO THE AREA OF HIGHWAY NN AND HIGHWAY N
NEAR LARSON ROAD FOR A VEHICLE IN THE DITCH THAT LOOKED LIKE IT HAD STRUCK A
TREE. WHILE EN ROUTE, EMS WAS ALSO RESPONDING TO THE CALL. I ARRIVED ON SCENE AT
APPROXIMATELY 0530. I OBSERVED A DARK COLORED VAN IN THE DITCH ON THE NORTH SIDE
OF HIGHWAY N. I ACTIVATED MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS AND APPROACHED THE VEHICLE. I
LOOKED IN THE VEHICLE AND DID NOT SEE ANYONE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. I THEN OBSERVED
A SAT OF FOOTPRINTS LEADING UP TO THE ROADWAY, WHERE THE TRACKS THEN
DISAPPEARED. I ADVISED DISPATCH THE VEHICLE WAS UNOCCUPIED. EMS WAS THEN
CANCELED. DEPUTY JEFSON ARRIVED SHORTLY AFTER, STAYING MOBILE FOR A BIT AND
CHECKING THE WOODS AND FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD TO ATTEMPT TO LOCATE THE DRIVER.

DEPUTY JEFSON THEN RETURNED TO WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS, UNABLE TO LOCATE ANYONE.
I RADIOED THE REGISTRATION, WI# WHICH CAME BACK TO I
WAS ADVISED THAT THE REGISTERED OWNER WAS DECEASED. DEPUTY JEFSON THEN RESPONDED
TO THE ADDRESS ON THE VEHICLE RETURN, TO ATTEMPT TO FIND
OUT WHO WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I REMAINED ON SCENE AND PHOTOGRAPHED THE
VEHICLE, WHICH HAD DAMAGE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE FENDER. I REQUESTED FOR THE NEXT
AVAILABLE TOW TO RESPOND TO MY LOCATION TO REMOVE THE VEHICLE.
AFTER SOME TIME, DEPUTY JEFSON ARRIVED BACK ON SCENE, AND INFORMED ME HE HAD
TALKED TO (DOB: 05/15/ WHO HAD INFORMED DEPUTY
JEFSON THAT (DOB: 09/10/ WAS THE LAST PERSON USING THE
VAN. I WAS ADVISED BY DISPATCH THAT HAS A FELONY WARRANT ISSUED THROUGH
THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS.
AFTER A SHORT WHILE, THE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED ON SCENE AND REMOVED THE VEHICLE.
THIS IS ALL OF THE INFORMATION I HAVE AT THIS TIME.
