RE: Repair broken foundation and vault privy
Dear Ms. Eck:
Mr. Christman and I responded to a complaint about a faulty outhouse and possible
sewage problems at your campground recreation park.
My observations are:
1.) You have an older permitted campground/recreational park.
2.) The five older mobile homes do not have sewer systems. However, they have
pressurized water to them. The basin water must be collected in buckets (vessels) of
some sort and deposited into the outhouse across the roadway. It is not permitted to -
deposit household water onto the ground.
3.) The older outhouse is in need of some repair. The foundation on the north side
(womens side) is crumbling and broken. The floor in back oFthe womens room is
broken and is exposed. Please repair the foundation and place a heavy concrete cover
over the back floor area. It is unhealthy, unsafe and is illegal to have these violations
in a licensed campground/park.
Please refer to my inspection report and detailed drawing of the outhouse.
Please repair the items noted on or before 15 August 1999. Call me when the repairs are
completed so that I can re-inspect. A copy of this letter and order for correction will be
mailed to your campground agent DHSS.
Please advise your mobile home residents NOT to dispose of household water onto the
ground— it is iliegal.
