The Board of Appeals approved a 26' x 32' garage at a road setback of 60 feet
to the centerline.
Findings of Fact of the Board of Appeals: There would be no change in the
use in the zone district. It would not be damaging to the rights of others
or property values. For the denial of the 26' x 36' garage it would be the
basis of economic gain or loss.
Any person or persons jointly aggrieved by this decision of the Board of Appeals
may commence an action in the Circuit Court for Writ of Certiorari to review
the legality of this decision within 30 days after the date of this notice.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Goessl:
Attached is a copy of the inspection report based on my visit to your property on
Tuesday, 30 October 1996. The required centerline road setback from Sissabagama
Road for the proposed �arage addition is 63 feet. However, the garage will be
constructed 56 feet from the centerline of the road. Therefore, the prior approval of a
variance application by the Sawyer County Board of Appeals is required before
construction can begin.
I have enclosed a completed "Variance Application." Please review the application.
and if cosect, sign it and retum it to this office with a check in the amount of $250.00
made out to the "Sawyer County Zoning Administration." The application and check
must be in this office by 4:00 P.M., Friday, 06 December 1996, for public hearings in
January 1997. I understand that there is the possibility that your real estate agent, Mr.
Kurt Lofgren, may sign the application for you and remit the $250.00 to this oYfice
today, Friday, Ol November 1996. If this should happen, the public hearing s will be
in December 1996.
Your "Variance Application" will be reviewed at two public hearings. The first
hearing will be held by the Town of Sand Lake at 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, 14 January
1997. You should contact Mrs. Elaine Nyberg, Town Clerk, TeL (715) 865-2486 to
reciontirm the date and time of this meeting. The second hearing will be held by the
Sawyer County Board of Appeals at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, 21 January 1997 in the
Circuit Courtroom located in the Sawyer County Courthouse. You, or your
representative, should attend each hearing, especially [he hearing conducted by the
Sawyer Counry Board of Appeals. Only the Board of Appeals can grant the variance,
the opinion of the Town of Sand Lake is advisory only. NOTE: If Mr. Lofgren signs
the application today, the respective Town and County meetings will be Tuesday, 10
December 1996 and Tuesday, 17 December 1996.
You must provide this office with an estimate of the anticipated costs of materials and
labor for this project. The estimated costs should be divided into: (1) the estimated cost
of materials and labor to enclose the garage addition, (2) the estimated cost of materials
and labor to finish the interior of the garage, (3) the estimated cost of materials and
labor to improvehenovate the exisring structure and (4) the total cost of all materials
and labor involved in the project. This informarion shall be in this office five working
days prior to scheduled meeting of the Sawyer County Board of Appeals.
It is your responsibiliry to convince the Board of Appeals to grant the variance that you
have requested. Therefore, you should consider using any means at your disposal (i.e.,
photographs, drawings, a ;ood verbal presentation etc.) as you present your facts to the
Board.
