It will, therefore be necessary to apply for the public hearing to change the zone district so that the placement of your home will not be a violation of the Sawyer County Zoning Ordinance. Enclosed please find an application for zone change from Forestry One to Residential/ Recreational Two. Please sign the application at the spot indicated and return the application by Friday, October 1, 2004. We have also enclosed a chart which shows the process your application will follow until the zone change is complete. Since a change of zone district is a public hearing process, it would be a good idea for you to attend the Town of Bass Lake meeting as well as the Zoning Committee meeting. We will send you certified mail confirming meeting times and places. In the meantime, Mr. Christman has OK'd your continuing to have the home placed on your property, pending this hearing. And the usual $100 public hearing fee has been waived in your case. We hope the rest of your house-installation project goes smoothly for you. Land Use Permit (LUP) #04-042 was issued for the construction of the Eastwood dwelling in the Residential/Recreational Two (RR-2) zone district. Staff research at the time the application was processed indicated that the property was in the RR-2 district. It was later determined that the property is actually in the Forestry One (F-1) zone district. If this was known at the time of the permit application, the permit would not have been issued as the minimum parcel requirement in the F-1 district is five (5) acres. However, the Eastwood parcel contains only 0.551 acres. The property would be required to be rezoned from F-1 to RR-2. However, prior to revoking this permit I contacted the Chairman, Town of Bass Lake and one of the two Town supervisors. Neither person had objections to the Eastwood property being rezoned to RR-2. Since the Savvyer County Zoning Committee typically follows the recommendation of a Town, I feel confident that that rezone should occur without any problems. Technically the permit is not valid because of the zone district issue, but I have no intention of revoking that permit, especially based on the information that I have obtained from two of the three town board members. • Current zoning and proposed zoning. Current zoning is Forestry One (F-1) proposed zoning is Residential/Recreational Two (RR-2). • Steps that will be taken to rezone approximately and the time frame involved. The rezone application will be processed at no charge to Mrs. Eastwood. The usual fee is $100.00. The application will be reviewed by the Town of Bass Lake at 6:30 P.M., Monday,November 8, 2004 and by the Sawyer County Zoning Committee at 9:00 A.M., Thursday,November 18, 2004. The decision of the Committee will be presented to the Sawyer County Board of Supervisors for ratification at the Board's Thursday, December 16, 2004 meeting. Please contact this office if you have any questions or comments. Office hours are 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M, Monday through Friday. Sincerely yours, G William A.
