This morning Ray Zubrod, Chairman, Sawyer County Board of Appeals, and I visited
your property. Mr. Zubrod wants the entire Board to make the decision as to whether the

Re: Construction Completion Deadline (Variance #OS-014)
Mr. Bong:
This letter is a reminder that a condition of approval of variance #OS-014 was that
"Construction must be completed within one year from the date the permit is procured."
Land use permit#OS-337 was issued on August 5, 2005 with an expiration date of August
5, 2006. The deadline for construction completion is August 5, 2006. The citation fee for
failure to comply with conditions of variance approval is $501.00. The citation could be
assessed on a daily basis. Construction completion shall include the dwelling, attached
garage, basement and the entryways, all as approved by the Board of Appeals.

will use to determine if your situation meets the requirements for the granting of the
variance that you have requested.) and a

If you believe that you meet the criteria for the requested variance you should review the
inspection report and application for correctness. If correct, sign the application and
return it to this office with a check in the amount of$250.00 made out to the "Sawyer
County Zoning Administration" by Friday, June 3, 2005 for hearings in July 2005.
The "Variance Application" will be reviewed at two public hearings. The first hearing
will be held by the Town of Bass Lake at 6:30 P.M., Monday, July 11, 2005. You should
contact Shirley A. Miller, Town of Bass Lake Clerk, at (715) 634-8469 (Town Hall) to
confirm this date. It is very important that you contact Mrs. Miller as soon as possible, as
the Town of Bass Lake may require that you attend a meeting of the Town's Planning
Commission prior to your appearance before the Town Board.
The Sawyer County Board of Appeals will hold the second hearing at 7:00 P.M.,
Tuesday, July 19, 2005 in the large Courtroom located in the Sawyer County Courthouse.
You or your agent should attend each hearing, especially the hearing conducted by the
Sawyer County Board of Appeals. Only the Board of Appeals can grant the variance, the
decision of the Town of Bass Lake is advisory only.
It is your responsibility to convince the Board oi Appeals to grant the variance that has
been requested. Therefore, you should consider using any means at your disposal (i.e.,
photo�raphs, drawings, a good verbal presentation, etc.) as you presvnt the facts to the
Board.
At its October 2002 public hearing,the Board members decided to apply expiration dates
to future variances. You should be prepared to discuss this issue with the Board(i.e.,
proposed date that construction would begin, any anticipated construction delays that may
be caused by the availability of contractors, excavators etc.).
