On June 15, 2007, the Sawyer County Zoning Committee approved with conditions your
application for change of zone district on the following described real estate to wit:
Approximately the east 1/2 of the south 1/2 of the NE 1/4 NW 1/4, S 20, T 41N, R 9W,
Part of Parcel 2101. Doc #344992. Approximately 9 acres total. Change from District
Agricultural One to District Residential/Recreational One. Purpose of request is to create
two residential lots of less than 5 acres each, one with an existing residence. The Town
Board has approved the application.
The Zoning Committee voted to approve the application as follows: Approve the rezone and the
presented map and cannot be further subdivided. Approximately 2.80 acres total.
Findings of Fact: It has proper relationship to adjoining areas and it conforms to the Town Plan.
The Sawyer County Board of Supervisors must ratify the approval of the change in zone district
before it becomes final. This will be scheduled for the County Board meeting on July 19, 2007,
6:30 P.M., in the Circuit Courtroom of the Sawyer County Courthouse.
This decision is a recommendation to the County Board of Supervisors. Any person or persons
jointly aggrieved by the decision of the County Board may commence an action with the Sawyer
County Board of Appeals to review the decision in whole or in part, within thirty (30) days after
the filing of the decision in the office of the Committee.

Re-Zone Request
As current owners of the properiy�that is being reviewed for a proposed zoning change, I
would like to completely clarify our request, as the request was not detailed to our
specific requests. We would like to clarify our request and gladly answer any questions
both in our following outline and directly with the board as well.
Intent
The 44 acre parcel, in wluch the rezone request lays, is part of a much larger tract of land
that has been in the Gourd family since it was homesteaded many years ago. Including
the parcel to the North owned by Fred Worman, and to the south owned by I.ee Gorud,
and Jason Turnbull. Not to mention property owned by Scott Turnbull and James
Turnbull. We purchased the property in question from family members with the sole
purpose of preserving as much of the property as we could afford, for futwre generations.
This vision is also the vision of the neighbors to the Noz�th and to the South.
Unfortunately, with the purchase of property comes added expense to all involved. Our
sole purpose is to sell as little of the property as possible, and relinquish our debt,
completely, or to a minimal amount that does dot burden the families involved. There is
absolutely no intention to sub-divide any more of the property.
Request
Rezone a total of 31ots of land, one of which a.iready has a dwelling on it, leaving 2
vacant lots. The purpose of the request is to rezone the proposed lots to a RR-1 �
classification to minimize the amount of properiy needed to relieve our overall debt.
The attaehed photo copy outlines the proposed lot sizes. This request ultimately will
result in a much smaller area than the original 9 acre proposal.

Benefits
With our town growing at a rapid pace,there is a need�or additional housing,especially
housing close to town. Being that a Zoning of RR-1 is very conducive to the surrounding
properties,this request should fit pleasantly into the area.As stewards of our lands,we
also recognize that with the ever increasing growth,there is also a need to preserve our
unique lands�nd wet lands. We feel that our request addresses the nceds of both
concerns. We look forward to working with the Town of Haywazd and Sawyer County to
helping our community to grow in a positive way.

AMENDING SAWYER COUNTY ZONE DISTRICT MAPS
WHEREAS, the Sawyer County Board of Supervisors has heretofore been petitioned to
amend the Sawyer County Zone District Maps; and
WHEREAS, the petitions have been referred to the Sawyer County Zoning Committee
for public hearings; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Committee, on due notice, conducted a public hearing on the
proposed amendments and filed their recommendations with the Board; and
WHEREAS, this Board has the legal authority to amend zone districts pursuant to
Section 59.69 (5) (e), Wisconsin Statutes.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sawyer County Zone District
Maps, adopted March 1, 1971, be and the same are hereby amended as follows:
TOWN OF HAYWARD
1) Larry Kauffman et ux. The south ll2 of the NW 1/4 SW 1/4, S 3, T 40N, R 8W;

Recreational One. Purpose of request is for the future construction of a single family
dwelling, owner not being engaged in agricultural activities. Also, the parcel does not
meet the minimum lot width of 300 feet. Town Board has approved.
Bruce Miller motioned to approve the rezone to A-2.
Kathy McCoy seconded the motion.
Motion carried.
Findings of Fact: It would not be damaging to the rights of others or property values.
It would not destroy prime agricultural lands. It would be compatible with
surrounding uses and the area. It is consistent with the Town Chairman's request and
it is with the knowledge of the applicant.

acres. Change from District Commercial One to District Residential One. Purpose of request
is for the construction of duplexes. The Town Board originally denied the application. This
application has been tabled from the November 2006 public hearing. The applicant requested
the application be postponed to the June public hearing. The Town Board has again denied
the application.
James Bassett motioned to deny the application.
Fred Zieflow seconded the motion.
Arlene Mizerka voted no.
Motion carried.
Findings of Fact: Committee is agreeing with Town Board's decision. It is bounded to that
denial by statute because this is outside of the shorelands.
