Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 the Sawyer County Zoning Board of Ap-
peals approved the application for variance for the following proposal:
Town of Sand Lake - Walter Herrman Rev. Trust d/b/a Stone Lake Lumber- Paul Manka, Agent. Lots
13-15, Block 6 Village of Stone Lake Original Plat; 519, T 39N, R 9W; Parcel -1300. Doc# 393948.
Property has 0.227 acres and is zoned Commercial One. Application is for the construction of an at-
tached 34' x 80' addition onto an existing non-conforming 26' x 80' pole building. The construction cost
of the addition will exceed 50% of the current estimated fair market value of the existing building. Vari-
ance is requested as Section 10.21, Sawyer County Zoning Ordinance, would require the prior granting of
a variance for any structure exceeding 50%of the current estimated fair market value of an existing non-
conforming structure. The Town Board has approved the application with comments.
The Board of Appeals approved the application with the following conditions: approve 34'
x 80'; maximum height to peak is 34' with side walls not to exceed 20'; pitch of roof to be 3:12
as presented by owner. The two year time limit is waived due to the commercial nature of the
property. Applications can be obtained at the Zoning Office.
Findings of Fact of the Board: There would be no change in use in the zone district; it would not
be damaging to the rights of others or property values; it would be due to special conditions
unique to the property; it would not be the basis of economic gain as its more of a necessity for
the building and business and will improve the landscape; it is due to a safety concern in getting
the materials under cover verses out in the open.
Any person or persons jointly aggrieved by this decision of the Board of Appeals may commence
an action in the Circuit Court for Writ of Certiorari to review the legality of this decision within
30 days after the date of this notice.

Dear Mr. Manka;
Your applications for three (3) variances will be considered at a Public Hearing before the
Sawyer County Zoning Board of Appeals on: Tuesday, May 19, 2015.
This hearing will begin at 6:00 P.M. at the Sawyer County Courthouse, 10610 Main,
Hayward, WI 54843. Please use the rear entrance off of Kansas Avenue.
It is recommended that either you or a representative be present at the Hearing. A lack of
information about the situation may result in an unnecessary delay of a decision. Fai(ure to
appear may result in the denial of the application.
If it is inlpossible for you or a representative to be present, please s�ibinit a written statement to
this office directed to Alan Gerber, Chairman of the Board of Appeals. This statement should
include a description of the general terrain and surrounding development and your proposed
intentions or purpose of the request. Photographs of the property and/or buildings are helpful.
Explain the undue hardship inflicted upon you by conforming to the required minimum
regulation, which induced the variance request. Convenience and financial loss or gain does not
constitute a zoning hardship.
Your application will also go before the Town Board. Some townships also have a Planning
